“It’s just a zit!” my clients will say. Surprise - No it’s not!
Acne, Rosacea and various bumps, blemishes, moles and ‘beauty marks’ are all significant in Face Reflexology. Recently, I had a client who was drastically changing their diet to increase their caloric intake so their body could be more nourished and erase some symptoms revolving around their deficiency. This change produced an irritation on the left upper and lower digestive reflexes that you can see in the picture to the right. Amazing! The body was irritated at the drastic change in diet but the red color also indicates fresh circulation coming to those reflex areas which one would expect with new tissue growth. We know this all by looking at the face!
The face is such an interesting landscape and when I explain that the whole body can be mapped on the face people will tell me crazy stories about injuries, histories of skin conditions and wonderful testimonials that validate how the face truly is a reflection of the body. For now, let’s decode the various sections of the face and then I will have a list for you to look at below regarding what certain issues on the face represent:
Horizontal Zone One: The Forehead
Reflexes Present: Brain, Skull, Sinus, Eyes, Teeth, Jaw, Ears, Thyroid, Muscles of the Head and Face, Cervical Spine
Horizontal Zone Two: The Eyes
Reflexes Present: Shoulder, Lung, Heart (more left side), Ribs, Thymus, Arm, Diaphragm (technically on the Diaphragm Guideline), Lymph Drainage, Thoracic Spine
Horizontal Zone Three: The Upper Cheeks
Reflexes Present: Liver (right only), Gallbladder (right only), Pancreas (more left side), Stomach (left only), Spleen (left only), Adrenal, Upper Half of Kidneys, Solar Plexus (technically on Diaphragm Guideline), Thoracic Spine
Horizontal Zone Four: The Lower Cheeks
Reflexes Present: Large Intestine (ascending and half of transverse on right side; descending, sigmoid and half of transverse on left side), Small Intestine, Ureters, Bladder, Reproductive, Lower Half of Kidney, Lymph Drainage, Hip/Knee/Leg, Lumbar Spine
Horizontal Zone Five: The Jaw
Reflexes Present: Sciatic Nerve, Sacral/Coccyx, Legs/Low Body
